Stacey Dougan
I became a Health Coach because, when my body, mind, and spirit, are in harmony, everything else falls into place. After 20 years of practicing law, I decided to follow my passion by building new career path as a Certified Holistic Health Coach and Registered Yoga Teacher. There’s nothing I love more than helping women who are approaching that seemingly endless “peri-menopausal” or menopausal phase realize that they can regain their energy and their waistline, while feeling great about themselves in the process. The bottom line is that vibrancy comes from the inside out, and no one or no “thing” can do it for us.
Throughout my professional life I was a Type-A person who worked very hard to balance a demanding career with motherhood, marriage, and community involvement. Though successful on the outside, I also experienced years of chronic pain, adrenal fatigue, and hormonal imbalance. Constantly frustrated with the fragmented treatment offered by conventional medicine, I found little relief before turning to nutrition, Yoga, Traditional Chinese Medicine, qigong, and other forms of holistic and integrative care. I had also studied these subjects closely over the years as I journeyed through perimenopause and then surgical menopause. I learned that the degree to which hormonal imbalances can affect the quality of women’s lives is enormous; the good news is that there are a multitude of non-pharmaceutical remedies that can provide immense relief to women throughout these years.
By being intentional around our nutrition and lifestyle choices, we can align our health with the lives we want. We find our joy by living in the present, neither regretting the past nor getting caught up in the future. We owe it to ourselves and to our families to be healthy and whole.
Through my own experiences and education, I understand at a cellular level the profound impact that my own nutritional status, physical activity, personal relationships, and spiritual fitness have on my overall well-being. Now I want to share that information with you.
I received my training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. I am also certified to teach Yoga by the Yoga Alliance and use various breathing, yogic, and spiritual approaches with clients as appropriate. Drawing on my knowledge and experience, I will help you create a completely personalized “roadmap to health” that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.
